September 9th marks the sixth annual Chloe's Fight Rare Disease Foundation 5K Toga Run/Walk and Gavin Flying for a Cure is joining in on the fun! In partnership with Minnesota's biggest celebration of Greek culture, the Taste of Greece, the event's purpose is to raise awareness of rare diseases like metachromatic leukodystrophy(MLD)and raise funds to support local and outside research targeted at find a cure.

​The Gavin Quimby Research Fund supports Allessandra Biffi MD(director of Gene Therapy at Boston Children's Hospital)develop treatments for leukodystrophies. Her emphasis is on improving gene therapy's benefit to the central nervous system for children affected by MLD and other related disorders.

​Gavin Flying for a Cure has it's own donation site on Chloe's Fight foundation page. Information on the run will be there and here is where you can register yourself or a team to run the 5K or do a kids 1K. You can also donate to Gavin Flying for a Cure on the same page. All donations and registration fees will go to The Gavin Quimby Research Fund to help Dr. Biffi with her miraculous treatment for MLD. One day we hope to find the cure for this terrible disease.
